Brian D. Baker is a senior security management consultant and licensed private detective in Pennsylvania. He is a Board Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and has over 20 years experience in security management, investigation, and consulting. He is also an experienced academician, having taught criminology, security management, and forensic investigation as a full-time and adjunct professor at several schools in Central Pennsylvania, including Penn State University. In 2007, he received the Faculty Excellence Award for outstanding teaching from Central Pennsylvania College in Harrisburg, PA, and since 2009 he has maintained excellent teaching performance ratings from his students at Penn State.
Brian’s diverse security management experience includes contract guard force operations, physical security surveys, development of post orders and master security plans, loss investigations, and training on a variety of security-related topics, including tactical force training, investigative report writing, and Positive Officer Safety Training (POST), an original guard force training program of Baker Security Group, LLC.. His consulting experience ranges from projects for municipal water supplies, general aviation airport authority, and commercial food processing facilities. He also has experience consulting for physician clinics, retail and jewelry operations, and executive protection. Brian has contributed to projects for the International Foundation for Protection Officers (IFPO) and he serves as a CPP review course instructor for his local ASIS-International chapter. Brian has also been a resource for articles about document destruction security and business security during periods of economic uncertainty.
As an independent consultant, Brian specializes in guard force performance issues, auditing of security programs, facility assessments, specialized training for security personnel, and security awareness training for non-security staff. In addition to corporate and industrial clients, Brian can assist professional executives with issues such as residential security and threat assessment.
